Busy few Months at Optima

AppleSec
Some of you who popped into our store within the last four months will have seen a very busy office and loads of computer equipment boxes.
We have been very busy these last few months. The main reason for this is the demise of further support for Windows XP.

Many customers who were still running Windows XP systems required their systems to be replaced or upgraded. As a result we have had to order and replace over 250 computers in the last six months. Whilst supplying a computer is the easy part, the associated works with regards to data transfer, computer setup, network re-configurations and so on has meant that the engineers have been working flat out.

Microsoft support for Windows XP came to an end in early April 2014. We are finally seeing work levels come back down to normal. There is more space to move around the office!
We have a new member of staff - Kamal - joining the workshop. Kamal is a skilled desktop support specialist and will work under Peter's guidance in the workshop. Some of you may already have spoken to him when requesting support.

Emma is back! After 1 long year on maternity leave, Emma is back at her desk. Alex is staying on and will work with Emma in customer services.

For any computer support requirements or help, please feel free to call or pop into the office. We have a new coffee machine, so come try out the coffee!!
